Magical Mystery Tour

Mysterious appearance of latte on my desk at work! If you are the responsible party - many thanks for the midday pick-me-up! Hugs!

Thanks to DAS for this amusing photograph.

And to Susan for this one.

Hope you smiled.
Thinking good thoughts at this end.

Save the Best for Last

Two AM update. Procedure went very well.
Much much gratitude for J, who transported me, stayed with me whenever they allowed, indulged my craving for a milkshake and generally spoiled me. Thank you, sweetheart.
Won't have pathology report for a while, but I did get photos. May post those later. I don't remember all that was discussed (drugs were involved), but no more ibuprofen for me. Apparently it does nasty stuff to one's stomach. Switching to acetaminophen but thinking I'll wean myself from the pain meds as well. Given an Rx for something to help with the acid and to help the mucosa rebuild in my stomach. Lovely word, mucosa. Mucosa es su cosa.
Thank you for the good thoughts. Grateful for each of you. Back to sleep for me.

Java Jive

Starbucks is closing about 700 of their stores here in the US. See if your regular store is listed here. My fave store is remaining open for the time being. It is one of three within six blocks of each other (and within three blocks of my home sweet home) in this smallish town of 17000 folks. But it is the best one as the other two are "attached" to two grocery stores. A couple of the barristas are good friends, made in the store, standing at the counter, gabbing. Spent time with a couple of them in local bars as well. Great ladies.
Tomorrow is a ten block rummage sale in our downtown. It's a place to run into friends and to find stuff you never knew you wanted. Despite my de-cluttering stance, I plan to cruise the street for a bit just to look (suuuure....)
Tomorrow is also R's big six-five. Another milestone in his year of events (awards, honours, fabulous trips, Starbucks customer of the week). Congratulations R!
Got a note from my cousin that he and the family have returned from their Alaskan cruise. Welcome back!
Had another driving lesson with the teenager yesterday in "Big Blue". Blue has a manual transmission and I let the teen know that she wouldn't get a driver's license until she could drive a stick shift. There's motivation for you.
Hope all is well. It is fine here, no complaints. J and I are still going strong and optimistic. Keep up that good thought thinking!

Queen of Hearts

We had uke practice last week and, boy, are we happy!
All is well here in our sound-side town. On the Fourth of July we enjoyed our annual parade - the teenager participated with her Tae Kwan Do class and then sold snow cones at the park for Key Club afterwards. R was the Grand Marshal of the event and rode near the front in a red convertible, doing the queen wave. J, Chance and I cruised the parade route, schmoozing. J had to work during the evening festivities and I went to Jeane's house and watched a TV show on decluttering while the fireworks flashed outside. Doesn't get much better than that for me!
Today J and I spent some time on my yard, weeding, mowing and planting a tree. The teenager had her entourage of young men with her all day. Ah, summer.
Spread the love and keep on thinking those happy thoughts. It seems to be working!

Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed

Here's my new bed (frame from Ikea, quilt from Susan, flowers from me to J). I splurged with high thread count sheets and a new down comforter (I had really liked the ones R had in his guest room). I am very happy with the new bedroom arrangement (including having someone in particular to share it with).
Tummy trouble this AM has me in a funky mood (funky as in smelly crabby not as in finger snapping good time).
June ended with fabulous summer weather. July has started out cooler and grey. Fourth of July is just around the bend. R has been selected as the Grand Marshal of the event. I'm grateful that he and I got over the hump and are friends again. We can have so much fun together. I played the uke with him last week and it was great to strum again. It took a bit, but the chords came back to me. New songs to practice now.
I don't have much else to say right now, but I wanted to check in. Hope you're well. Leave a comment and think good thoughts.
